Last week, it was announced that the NNZ-2566 Safety Study was complete. This is the news that I, and Rett parents all over the world have been waiting for for such a long time. It’s been almost three years since I first heard of the NNZ trial and hoped to have Katelin participate. And now, we are nearing the precipice of the mountain that this trail has taken us up.
As today begins Rett Syndrome Awareness month, I find it fitting that in November the results will be released, Awareness followed by Hope and Progress. It’s a natural transition-Here’s all about Rett Syndrome. It sucks. But wait! This is what we’re doing about it.
I am on bended knee to Neuren Pharmaceuticals for this amazing chance, this hope. But moreover, NNZ-2566 is NOT just hope for Rett Syndrome, but for a multitude of brain injuries and disorders and when you put all that together, the incredible impact this one compound may have is mind-blowing. If I were I researcher at Neuren, I would wake up everyday giddy with the knowledge that I was truly making a difference in MILLIONS of lives-as family after family is given a glimmer of hope.
So, as we wait with bated breath for the next few months, let me share with you all, one life that has been changed forever. First by Rett Syndrome and maybe, just maybe soon again.
