B is for Body Apps-Part II

Today, I’m going to highlight an app that should be pretty fantastic, but falls short on so many levels. I’m pretty sure I paid for it, which makes it even worse.

Body Organs by nth Fusion LLC, at first glance, has a lot going for it. They discuss 18 different organs, all the major ones, the graphics are good, the information is all there, take a look at just the kidneys……

But, then why is it so awful??

The music is so ANNOYING! It can’t be turned off and plays at the same time the narrator is speaking. Now, I suppose you COULD just turn the sound off and do the reading yourself, but Hey! Katie gets BORED just hearing me all the time.

Secondly, the narrator has got to have the dullest, non-inflectional voice on the planet.

Thirdly, since the narrator simply reads exactly what is written, the words should highlight, but they don’t.

Fourthly, this is not an interactive app at all. Everything is just put on the page and the narrator reiterates it. That’s it. It’s not like you can touch a part of the organ and THEN information pops up. Nothing moves, there is nothing to grab nor keep a person’s attention.

Basically, I hate this app, and so does Katelin.

Mom rating: .5 stars- I’m giving it a .5 only because the number of organs is impressive and IF you turn the sound off, you might  be able to stand how boring it is.
